Elder
over Missions and Building and Grounds
Ed has worshipped at
the Benton church all of his life.
He became an elder in 1989. He is
married to Judy and they have three
children, Missi Holley and her husband
Terrell, Jeff and his wife Bethany and
Jason and his wife Kelly. They are
grandparents to Jessica Phillips and her
husband Luke, Brandon Holley, Alec and
Walker Jones, and Laney Beth and
Anderson Jones.
Ed & Judy are also great grandparents to
Kyzer and Kamdyn Phillips. Ed is a retired
school teacher and says that his wife
Judy has been a domestic engineer since
their marriage in 1958. Ed enjoys
spending time with his family, sports
and outdoor activities. He serves
as chairman of the
French
African Christian Education Foundation
and has coordinated several mission
trips to French West Africa. |

Doug
Lyles

Elder over Youth
and Family and Education
Doug has attended the
Benton church of Christ all of his life. He and
his wife Gail were married in 1976. They have
three children Adam and his wife Julia, Aaron
and his wife Tosha, and daughter Krista. Doug
and Gail are also grandparents to Addison and
Austin Lyles and Cambelle Lyles. He is a teacher at
Marshall County High School, and Gail is the
office manager at MTG insurance. He enjoys his
part time landscaping business and traveling.
Doug’s areas of service are our Youth and Family
ministry, missions, and teaching a Bible class.
It is his desire to see the Benton church
“Praise God in spirit and truth as we fellowship
with another, provide for the needy, and seek
and teach the lost.” |

Sonny Rommelman
|

Elder over
Outreach and Finance
Sonny and his wife Marilyn
have a deep conviction that God was active in
their lives by leading them to Benton in 1966
and placing Christians in their lives to teach
them the truth and influence them to become
Christians. He became an elder at the Benton
church in 1996. Sonny’s areas of focus are the
prison ministry, World Bible School,
correspondence lessons, benevolence, and Youth
and Family. They are parents to three
children, Monte and his wife Kim in Paducah, KY,
Eric and his wife Rebecca in Pylesville, MD, and
Lia Thompson and her husband Bo in Benton.
They have eight grandchildren, Lyle, Marcus and
Hunter Rommelman, Macey, Eliza and Zane
Rommelman, and Ryder and Rylee Thompson.
Before coming to Benton Sonny served in the US
Army Corps of Engineers stationed at Ft. Belvoir,
VA. He is retired from Atofina Chemicals in
Calvert City, KY. Sonny's wife Marilyn is a homemaker. In
their spare time they love to spend time with
their family. |

Kendell Stevenson

Building and Grounds and Youth and Family
Kendell has lived in Benton
all his life and has attended the Benton church
since 1964. He and Sandra were married in 1978.
They have two children living in Benton. Jennifer is
married to Dave Simmons and their son Barry is
married to Micha Bohannon. They are
grandparents to Carina Simmons. Kendell has
owned and operated Stevenson Heating & Cooling, for over
30 years while Sandra is the office manager at
Parkway Chrysler in Benton. Kendell serves
on the executive committee of the the French
African Christian Education Foundation and has
completed several mission trips to Benin as well as
oversees our building and
grounds. When he has a free minute, he enjoys
fishing, hunting, and farming. |

Keith Travis
|

Elder over
Finance and Worship
Keith and his wife Joan were married in
1978. They have
worshipped with us at the Benton congregation since 1996. They are the
parents of Julia Lyles and her husband Adam and
James. They have one granddaughter, Addison
and a grandson, Austin Lyles. Keith is Vice President of Human
Resources at the Murray-Calloway County
Hospital. Keith became an elder in 2000, and he
focuses on office personnel, education, and
benevolence. He enjoys golfing, farming,
running, and camping. |
