Pulpit Minister - Dr. Jay Lockhart

Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Dr. Jay Lockhart has always known he was destined to become a gospel preacher. He is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, David Lipscomb University, Harding Graduate School of Religion, and earned his PhD from Trinity Theological Seminary. Jay married the former Arlene Carter in 1958. They are parents to three children and enjoy six grandchildren. Dr. Lockhart recently celebrated his 50^th year as a minister preaching in West Virginia, Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma. Dr. Lockhart is a member of Board of Trustees at Freed-Hardeman University. We are very fortunate at the Benton church to welcome Jay and Arlene into our family.

Youth and Family Minister - Travis Terrell

Travis grew up not too far from here in Mayfield, KY. In 2003, he obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Preaching from Harding University. He and Jennifer married in her hometown of Mount Sterling, Kentucky on August 7, 2004. From 2004 till 2008, Travis served as a youth minister for Central Church of Christ in Winter Haven, Florida. On January 1, 2008, he came to Benton to work as our Youth and Family Minister. He is currently enrolled at Webster University where he is seeking a Master’s in Counseling, with an emphasis in License Mental Health Counseling. Travis and Jennifer do not have any children of their own at this time; unless you count three unruly dogs, a couple of birds, a school of fish, and any other creature that might come their way!
