The 100 year old Benton church of Christ is currently seeking a senior minister for a full time position. The church has a Sunday morning attendance that averages 270 to 300 with a weekly contribution average of $10,500; there are 5 elders and 18 deacons serving the congregation. The church has a structured school program for 2 year old children up to kindergarten with more than 65 children enrolled; there is an after school program from 3pm until 5pm daily during the school year for approximately 50 children. There is a strong mission program with a focus on French West Africa along with other international locations; a benevolence program serving the community and a weekly support group meeting for those dealing with addiction. Numerous other ministries exist within the congregation that serve various segments of the population.
The successful candidate should be a man who has a degree from a sound Christian University, a person who speaks where the Bible speaks and is silent where the Bible is silent. The minister should demonstrate a strong and successful commitment to Christianity through his family. The individual should be an experienced minister who has worked with a moderate sized congregation with a passion for saving the lost. A partial list of job responsibilities is as follows:
1. Preaching on Sunday morning and evening
2. Teaching an auditorium class on Sunday morning and a class on Wednesday evening
3. Assist in the overall management of an office and small staff
4. Visit hospitals, rest homes, shut-ins and others in need of support
5. Work with Elders and Deacons to provide the spiritual needs of the congregation
