Karon Crocker
|
|
|
 |
Karon's areas of focus are
transportation and the church office.
He and his wife Jeaneen spend countless
hours at the building taking care of the
office equipment, updating our church
directory, and many other tasks. Karon and
Jeaneen were married in 1959. They
are parents to four sons, Bob, David,
Steven, and Trevor. They are also
the proud grandparents of Robin, Beth,
Dora, Jenny, John, Jannelle, Tanner,
Lori, Hannah, and Katie Crocker.
Karon is retired from Arkema in Calvert
City and Jeaneen from the Bank of
Marshall County. He enjoys
computers, reading, cars and spending
time with his grandchildren. |

Kevin Farley
|
|
 |
Kevin married his wife Beth in
1986. Together they have two sons,
Ethan and Evan. He has lived in Benton
and worshiped at the Benton church all
of his life, and in 2008 he became a
deacon. Kevin works at MTG, Inc. and
Beth is an accountant. Kevin’s areas
of service are worship service
assignments and building & grounds. In
his spare time he enjoys hunting, golf,
UK basketball, watching the St. Louis
Cardinals, and NASCAR. |

Jerry Johnston
|
|
 |
Jerry’s outside interest include
church growth, personal evangelism and
edification. When he became a deacon in
2008, he was a natural for his areas of
service - the worship song service and
evangelism. Jerry and his wife Paula
have been married since 1967. They have
two children, a daughter and a son.
Their daughter Jenny is married to Brad
Whitson and they have three children,
Maggie, Megan, and Jaxon. Their son,
John and his wife Christina have two
daughters, Sara-Olivia and
Raelle-Roesmary. Jerry retired from
AtoFina Chemicals after 36 years, and
Paula is retired from CFSB with 24 ½
years of service. |

Jason Jones
|
 |
Jason's area of focus
as he serves as deacon is the KidsFirst
preschool and AfterSchool program.
He is also a member of the
finance committee. He is married to Kelly and
they have two children, Alec and
Walker. Jason has lived and
worshipped at the Benton church all
of his life. He is employed at the Bank
of Benton as branch manager and lender.
Kelly is a math teacher at North Marshall
Middle School. In his spare time, he
enjoys playing tennis, reading and
watching movies. Jason became a deacon
in 2002. |

Jeff Jones
|
|
 |
Jeff Jones has been a
school teacher at South Marshall Middle
school since 1991and has taught several
different ages of bible classes
throughout the years. He has
worshiped with the church at Benton all
of his life. His wife, Bethany, is
also a school teacher at Calvert City
Elementary. They have two
children, Laney Beth and Anderson. Jeff
became a deacon in 2008 and his area of
service is our education department.
In his spare time he enjoys sports,
fishing, and spending time with our
youth. |

Brad Miller
|
 |
Brad is one of our education
directors. Many hours go into planning
curriculum for our bible classes.
Brad has been a part of the Benton
church all of his life. He is a mail-carrier
for the U.S. Postal Service in Murray
and in 1997 married Mandy Steele.
Mandy is a teacher at Jonathan
Elementary.
They have one daughter, Olivia.
Golfing and fishing take up any extra
time he has. |

Jared Morgan
|
|
 |
Finance, the radio station, our
youth, and missions are the areas of
service Jared officially took on when
becoming a deacon in 2008. He married
his wife Joni (Walker) in 2001, and
Jared and Joni now have one son, Sam,
and a daughter, to be born later this
year. Jared works at Bradshaw & Weil
Insurance Agency, and Joni is a teacher
at Benton Middle School. He enjoys the
Saint Louis Cardinals, his family, and
reading. |

Scott Phillips
|
|
 |
Scott, his wife Lori (Jarrett), and
their two daughters, Sydney and Dylan
began worshiping at the Benton church in
2005. Shortly there after, Scott
started leading singing occasionally,
now he is one of our regular worship
song leaders. Scott and Lori have lived
in Marshall County all of their lives.
Since 1994, Scott has worked at DeGussa
Corporation, and Lori is a middle school
teacher at South Marshall Middle
School. Scott’s areas of service are
our pre-teens and our youth. His
hobbies are construction and golf. |

Matt Ross |
 |
Matt has been a deacon since 1998
and has attended the Benton church
nearly all of his life. He and his
wife, Kim, were married in 1985 and are
owners of the Break-Time Vending Co.
They have two sons, Travis and Logan.
In his spare time he enjoys fishing,
golf, singing, and movies. |

Byron Rudd |

Byron has been a member of the
Benton church all of his life and has
been a deacon since 1998. He and
his wife Laurie have two sons Bryce and
Brandon. Byron's areas of service
include our Youth and the sound system
for the auditorium. He works for
Barnes Dist. and Laurie is a teacher's
assistant in
our KidsFirst Program. In his
spare time he enjoys basketball, drag
racing, refereeing football, and his
family. |

Phillip Rudd
|
 |
Phillip and his
wife Evelyn were married in December of
1963. They have been blessed with two
sons. Byron, his wife Laurie and their
sons Bryce and Brandon worship at
Benton. Daren and his wife Stacey
attend the Reidland church of Christ.
Phillip is employed by Continental
General Tire. His area of service at
the Benton church is communications and
advertising. He and Evelyn enjoy
working with their personal ministry,
Step’N Stones.

Jerry Sells
|
 |
Jerry and his wife,
Juanita began worshipping at the Benton
church in 1974. They are the parents of
two daughters, Alicia and her husband
Bill Colp, and Christy and her husband
Jeff Smith. They have four grandsons,
Dylan and Carson Colp and Skyler and
Quinn Smith. Jerry is a dentist with a
local practice in Benton. His wife
Juanita is the office manager. Jerry
became a deacon in 1991. His areas of
service are the Young at Heart program,
our library, and managing the Benton
Christian Scholarship program. Jerry
enjoys performing magic tricks for many
of his patients.

Mike Stewart

With Mike's expertise in the
technology field, his area of service at
the Benton church is our church network,
our website, software, and
technology used during the worship
services. He and his wife Melanie
were married in 1976. The are the
parents of two daughters, Jessica and
her husband Ryan Weddle and Amy, her
husband Arron, and granddaughter Alivia Rhodes Mike teaches
various classes in the technology
department at West Kentucky Community
and Technical College. Melanie is
the network administrator at the Bank of
Benton. They have been members at
Benton since 1982 and enjoy traveling
and new technologies. |

Tim
Teel
|
|
 |
Tim grew up in
Parkersburg, West Virginia, and is a
graduate of Freed-Hardeman University.
He and his wife Krista married in 1988.
They have three children, Kelsey, Kenna,
and Karson. In 2004 their family
moved to Benton. Tim is a Community
President/District Manager for US Bank
and Krista works at Calvert City
Elementary in the preschool dept. His
areas of service are our Youth and
Missions. In his spare time he enjoys
hunting, woodworking, sports and family
time. |

Paul Thurman
|
 |
After becoming a
deacon in 1996, Paul’s area of service
in the work at Benton became church
finance. He and his wife Julie have one
son, Nathan. Their family has lived and
worshiped at Benton since 1979. Paul is
employed as Market President at Heritage
Bank in Benton. Julie is a homemaker.
In his spare time he enjoys golfing. |

Dennis Tucker
|
 |
In 1978, Dennis
Tucker and his wife Sharon moved to
Benton and began worshiping with the
Benton congregation. Since then, they
have raised three children.
Jennifer is married to Randy Jackson,
they have one child named Tucker.
John and his wife Jill are the parents
of a daughter, Brooklyn. Jason, their
youngest, is in college. Dennis became
a deacon in 1991 and has worked with the
benevolence ministry and now is working
with office administration, kitchen
supplies, and baptistery care. He spent
the last 33 years working for Rodney’s IGA here in town and now works for
Fleetwood Homes of Kentucky. His spare
time is spent enjoying his family.

Don Walker
|
 |
Don and his family have worshiped at
the Benton congregation since they moved
to Benton in 1989. He and his wife
Sherri have four children. Their
oldest daughter Amy, her husband, Mike Dominski
and their daughter Eden, Joni is married
to Jared Morgan and they have a son
named Sam. Their son Stephen and their
youngest daughter Lori are both students
at Freed Hardeman. Don is a physical
education teacher and head coach of the
men's soccer team at Marshall County
High School. Sherri works as head teller
for the Bank of Benton. Don's
areas of service include Special Events.
He enjoys the outdoors and all type of
sports. |

Cory Westerfield
|
 |
Cory and his wife Jodi have
worshipped with the church at Benton
since 2002. They are parents to
Kylin and Adley. Cory is a
math teacher at Marshall County High
School and also head coach of girls
Track and Field. Jodi is the
director of our Afterschool program.
With their experience and love for young
people, Cory's area of service is to
work closely with Travis and our youth
group, assist with the Afterschool
program and also to coordinate our
Wednesday night devotionals. When
time allows, Cory enjoys camping,
canoeing, outdoor sports and NASCAR. |

Lonnie Woodruff
|
|
 |
Lonnie’s areas of service are home
Bible studies and our building cleaning
crew. He is a retired school teacher in
Marshall County and has written two
books, Revelation for Christians
Today and Eden to Eden.
Lonnie and his wife, Sherry (Pogue),
married in 1968 and have two daughters.
Holley is married to Jamie Webb, and
they have two children, Brooke and
Brady. Haley is married to Scott
Chambers, and they have one son, Logan.
Lonnie’s hobbies include playing with
grandchildren, golf, and old western
movies. |

Craig Yates
|
|
 |
With over 30 years of service with
the TVA, presently a Senior Special
Agent for the office of the Inspector
General, and the fact that he enjoys
spending time with senior citizens, it
is a given that two of Craig’s areas of
service is building security and our
work with the local nursing
homes. His other area is our
benevolence program. Craig and his wife
Cindy, our church secretary,
married in 1978. They have two
children. Their daughter is Kayce.
Their son, Kyle, and his wife Emily,
have a son, Kobey. In his spare time,
he enjoys working-out, bicycle riding,
yard work, landscaping, painting, and
preaching. |
